Bronny James returns to play for USC five months after cardiac arrest

LeBron James’ son, Bronny returned to playing basketball for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest during training

This past Sunday, the 10th, Bronny Jamesson of LeBron Jamesof Los Angeles Lakers, returned to playing basketball after being away for five months after suffering a cardiac arrest during training. At 1.93m, 95kg and 19 years old, the young player debuted in the acclaimed NCAA for the University of Southern Californiain the match against Long Beach State.

It was on July 20th that Bronny was surprised by the problem while training at Galen Center. At the time, he discovered a treatable congenital heart defect. He was recently cleared to train with the ball alongside his teammates again by his doctors and the USC medical team. Before, he worked out alone, doing weight training and aerobics.

Even though it was not full, the 10,258-seat arena had the biggest audience of the season for the USC Trojans because of Bronny’s debut. Furthermore, LeBron’s illustrious presence was noted during the game, as he arrived during the national anthem, hand in hand with his daughter, Zhurislapping his son’s butt as he passed the players lined up on the court.

Bronny was on the court for about seven minutes in the first half, leaving fans on their feet. Afterwards, he spent three more minutes on the court, when he made a good block on Jadon Jones, leaving the crowd present and his father applauding excitedly. In the end, the young athlete finished the game with three points, two assists, a rebound and a block, participating in the Trojans’ 88-78 victory.
