Ukrainian basketball lost one of the best teams in history.
The Ukrainian Basketball Federation officially announced the exclusion of Budivelnik from the participants of the Super League.
The organization held a meeting where it made several decisions:
- exclude Budivelnik from the list of participants in the Ukrainian Championship among clubs in Division “A” Super League for the 2023-2024 season;
- the results of all games played by Budivelnik in the regular Super League championship (13 matches) on 12/12/2023 have been cancelled. Accordingly, the points of the teams scored and lost in Budivelnik matches from the beginning of the regular season must be canceled;
- player statistics accumulated by players in games with the participation of Budivelnik remain valid;
- update the competition standings taking into account the decisions made by the Department.
Let’s remember that Budivelnik took second place in the Super League standings, having 10 wins in 13 matches played.
The Kiev club holds the record for victories in the Ukrainian championship – 11. The team also won the Ukrainian Cup five times.
We remind you that the reason for leaving the championship is the financial problems of the club.
