The VTB United League All-Star Match in 2024 will take place in a new format, the competition’s press service reports.
According to the rules, the coaches of the top two teams in the league at the end of 2023 will select players for their squad in a draft ceremony. Basketball players will participate in the draft through three stages of voting: fans (January 8-15), media (January 15-22) and head coaches of league teams (January 22-29). The selection of the final six players and the issuance of wild cards are scheduled from January 29 to February 2.
The draft ceremony, during which the selected players will be allocated to the teams, will take place in early February, the exact date has not yet been determined.
Last season, the VTB League All-Star Game was held in the “New School” vs. “Old School” format. The “New School” team was represented by players aged 30 and up, and the “Old School” team was represented by players aged 30 and over.
