NBA has a project on the outskirts together with the NGO Gerando Falcões

NBA court opens in Ferraz de Vasconcelos, in São Paulo, in a project on the outskirts together with the NGO Gerando Falcões

Last Tuesday, the 12th, the NBA inaugurated its newest court in Brazil, in collaboration with the NGO Generating Falcons. Favela dos Sonhos, in Ferraz de Vasconcelos, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, was the community chosen this time by the NBA Station platform.

The league’s initiative aims to renovate courts and leave a basketball legacy across the country. The new court is located in a municipal school, the EMEB Professor Nurimar Martins, and children who study at the unit will be able to access the activities. However, residents of the region, even without ties to the student organization, will also be able to use the space.

Favela dos Sonhos is one of the first blocks in the country to be impacted by the Favela 3D (Dignified, Digital and Developed) initiative. This project under discussion aims to restructure the most needy communities in Brazil, with the aim of promoting an improvement in the quality of life of their residents and people who impact the daily lives of these places.

“The arrival of the NBA in such a special place as Favela dos Sonhos only reinforces our commitment to sport and society. Being alongside Gerando Falcões and being able to provide a structure that will impact the lives of hundreds of people is a source of great pride for all of us”he said Rodrigo VicentiniHead of the NBA in Brazil.
