Venezuelan national team player dies at 24

Venezuelan national team basketball player Garley Soho has died at the age of 25, according to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) website.

The attacker died at his home in Caracas; no further details of the incident were provided.

“We deeply regret the passing of Soho, a member of our national team and an exceptional person. We express our condolences to his family, friends, loved ones and the entire sports community for this irreparable loss,” the Venezuelan Basketball Federation said in a statement.

Soho made his debut for the 2020 team during the Olympic qualifying tournament held in Lithuania. In 2023, he participated in the World Cup and averaged 12.4 points per game.
