The leader of the Ukrainian women’s basketball team Yagupova left the Turkish Cukurova Mersin

In the near future Alina will find a job in another team

Leader and captain Ukrainian women’s team in basketball Alina Yagupova left Turkish Çukurova Mersin. The three-year agreement was terminated by mutual consent.

The Ukrainian played 13 matches in the Turkish Championship, in which she scored 13.0 points, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds. In the Euroleague, the Ukrainian played 10 matches, where she averaged 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.

In the near future, Yagupova will find a job with a new team – her agent is doing this. Alina herself also stated that she would continue to play for the Ukrainian national team: Yagupova missed the last matches in the EuroBasket 2025 qualification due to injury.

The Ukrainian became the champion of Turkey for three years in a row as part of Istanbul Fenerbahce. With Mersin, the Ukrainian finished second in the Turkish Super League in 2019.

Last season, Alina became the winner of the Euroleague. The Ukrainian was also a member of the symbolic team of the European tournament and twice became MVP of the Women’s Euroleague.
