On social media, LeBron James questions the requirements necessary for players to be named to the Basketball Hall of Fame
This Saturday, 23rd, LeBron James used his social networks to criticize the nomination rules for the Basketball Hall of Fame. It is obvious that King will be among legendary members of the pantheon of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famebut it seems that the player is very excited for the moment.
“Why do players have to be retired before they get into the Hall of Fame? Coaches have the right to enter while they are still training. I wanted to know what the difference is.”, stated LeBron, through his official Twitter profile. The player’s complaint has to do with the honor requirements. According to the criteria, the induction of someone to the State Hall of Fame NBA requires that the athlete has completed at least four retirement seasons, and can only be nominated in the fifth year out of action.
Why do players have to be retired before going into the HOF? Coaches get in while still coaching rightfully so. Wondering what’s the difference though🧐

Technicians, however, can join the select group still active. For this to happen, at least 25 years of activity at the high school, college and professional basketball levels is required. In this case, the coach will be eligible in the twenty-sixth year of working in the sport.
With a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers Until the end of next season, LeBron James doesn’t seem to be worried about ending his career on the court so soon, as he wants to play with his children. Therefore, the naming of the biggest basketball memorial should still take a few years if the rules still remain the same.
