The National Basketball Association (NBA) Board of Governors approved the sale of the club Dallas Mavericks reports journalist Adrian Wojnarowski, citing a league press release.
The deal will be officially finalized in the “coming weeks.”
The new owner of Dallas will be Miriam Adelson, 78, whom Forbes placed on the list of the richest women in the world.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the value of the deal would be between $3.8 billion and $3.9 billion. Adelson will acquire 77% of the shares, while Cuban will retain the remaining 23%.
Mark Cuban became owner of Dallas in 2000, purchasing the club for $285 million. Under him, the Mavericks made the Finals twice and became NBA champions in 2011.
