Villagrán’s men started the year with an important 102-68 victory over Vázquez’s team.
Gimnasia beat Platense with authority at the start of 2024, winning the game 102 to 69. The Patagonia team had a great third quarter, where they built an advantage that broke the match.
Those led by Villagrán had a good night, where they had 48% of three-point shots and five players reached double digits in scoring. Brandon Nazione converted 13 points, while Cardenas, another newcomer, and De Vaughn completed the quintet with 11 conversions each.
For the visit, the most outstanding was Alvaro Yarza with 18 points and he was followed by Juan Pablo Corbalán with 13 points. Facundo Vázquez finished the score sheet with good numbers, adding 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 recoveries and 3 turnovers.

With this result, Gimnasia returned to victory after two consecutive defeats and remains in 12th place in the table with a record of 8-8. Platense also maintained its position in third place, except that it fell after four straight wins.
