During a press conference after his first training session back with the Warriors, the player talks about how he intends to be a better athlete on the court
Draymond Greenpivot of the Golden State Warriors, he wants to show everyone that he has changed. After his first formal training with the franchise, California this past Tuesday, the 9th, the player spoke to some journalists present, mainly revealing what he thinks about his behavior as an athlete. The multi-time champion was reinstated to the squad on Saturday, the 6th, after receiving a 12-game suspension for assaulting Jusuf Nurkicof Phoenix Suns.
“Bad behavior wasn’t something that got me here [na carreira], but when I look back at the situations, I think ‘Can you remove the bad behavior?’ I have a lot of confidence that I can remove bad behavior and if I remove it, no one will be worried about how I play. No one is worried about how I perform in a basketball game, but rather about bad behavior. So that’s my focus.”Green said.
The veteran had to go through a counseling process during the almost month he was suspended, reporting that he learned about emotional control techniques. “Not crossing the line with a referee, yes, that is a point of emphasis for me, as well as knowing and understanding where that line is.”, he commented. Green also stated that his absence “cost the team a lot” and that he feels a sense of urgency about his return to the court.
“Not yet (return date), but I’m pushing for it to happen as soon as possible”, added the veteran. The Golden State Warriors have not yet had a good time in the 2023/24 season. NBA and it is far from being at its best. The team of San Francisco is in 12th place in Western Conference and only manages to enter the fight for tenth position, the last spot for the play-in.
