Washington Wizards define what they want to trade Kyle Kuzma

According to a journalist, the Washington franchise has already set a price for the winger, who is going through a bad moment in his NBA career.

It seems like there is some chance that Kyle Kuzma be exchanged for Washington Wizards later this season. However, according to the journalist Sam Becenie, from “The Athletic”, shouldn’t be cheap. The team, which is going through a terrible time in 2023/24, wants to pursue a total reconstruction. However, this does not mean that they are willing to give up the player, unless for a certain price.

According to the reporter, some names may be moved until the end of the league’s exchange market, which takes place on February 8th. And Kuzma was present at the report. According to the journalist, the winger will cost two first-round picks if any team wants to get involved in a deal for the athlete. “Firstly, Washington is in no rush to move the number 33. So, there is a world where he continues to play for the franchise in 2023/24. They just re-signed his contract on a four-year, $90 million deal, which for many, is a long-term bargain with the rising salary cap. Furthermore, the value of the contract does not increase as in a usual contract, but rather decreases over the years”he explained.

“But if the right amount is offered, the Wizards will be open to negotiations. That certain value, according to NBA sources, is two first-round picks. This would help to continue rebuilding the franchise in the coming years. However, I don’t think anyone will do that at this point. Therefore, I think a Kyle Kuzma trade is unlikely to happen to the Washington Wizards. On the other hand, the market could still change until February”, commented Vecenie. Finally, the reporter revealed that he considers the winger to be underrated and that the disorganization of the franchise washington does not demonstrate its true value on the court.

“He’s underrated around the league. Good shooter and a guy capable of creating his own plays on offense. It doesn’t work as a first option, but it has everything to work as a second or third option elsewhere. This year it didn’t happen, however, he has already demonstrated that he can defend during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers. I think we are talking about an athlete who does several things very well”concluded the journalist.
