Questioning of American basketball player Greiner in drug trafficking case postponed at the request of lawyers

On Thursday, the third court hearing in the Greiner case was held, in which an interrogation was to take place. However, at the request of the athletes’ lawyers, the questioning was postponed.

– Now the evidence is provided by the defense, and today there was an interrogation of the defense witnesses. Tomorrow, written evidence will be provided, this is the stage of the criminal proceedings. Brittney’s questioning will come later. This will be announced later. The process is ongoing,” Maria Blagovolina, a partner at law firm Rybalkin, Gortsunyan, Dyakin and Partners, told reporters.

Earlier, on July 7, during the second meeting, the basketball player admitted to smuggling hash oil, although she said there was no malicious intent in her actions.

Since 2015, Greiner has been playing for UMMC Yekaterinburg, becoming a two-time Russian champion, Euroleague bronze medalist.

The 31-year-old basketball player has twice won the Olympics as part of the American team (2016, 2020), participated in the WNBA All-Star games seven times.
