Quimsa remains undefeated and won the classic as a guest

Olympic de La Banda received Fusion to play the Santiago classic in Vicente Rosales for the National League. It’s a victory for Quimsa, who have amassed 16 wins out of 17 played and sit as the sole leader in the standings. El Negro now has four games and needs to quickly overcome this defeat to try to catch up with his biggest rivals.

The match was played from the start with a play-off atmosphere, the first half was a battlefield. They didn’t get great gains until the Fusion distanced themselves by 11 units. They achieved this thanks to Tayavek Gallizzi (13 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks) who had his “flu game”. The Quimsa inmate had a fever in the morning and during the game he also felt sick. However, the continued defeat of Ramella’s team gave way to the quick attack of Olympic led by Alex Negrete (16 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal). It ended with a slight left in Negros with the minimum advantage at halftime.

The second half was all Quimsa, although it was a game with few goals, the visit managed to restore the deficit quickly. Leading the way in goals, Leandro Ramella’s men managed to dominate the flow of the game against an erratic Olympic team. The ball did not go in for the locals and the distances began to widen. Fabián Ramírez Barrios (10 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals, 1 block) commanded the Fusion attack with effective defense and running. It all ended when Quimsa got its 13th straight win by six points. Success that takes them away from the standings and imposes them only as leaders.

What’s next for you two?

Now those in La Banda will hit the road in search of a return to victory to try to get closer to their eternal rivals. They will visit Obras at the Temple of Rock, the Núñez people want to outdo the Santiago people and it will be a close match as no one will give anything away. While Quimsa will be local again and host the Regatas de Corrientes at the Ciudad Stadium to try to extend their streak again. Will Remero be able to surprise and break the string of victories for Ramella’s team?
