NBA champion suspended 25 games for anti-doping rule violation

Power advance “Cleveland Cavaliers » Tristan Thompson was suspended for 25 games without pay for violating the terms of the anti-doping program, according to the National Basketball Association (NBA) website.

The 32-year-old Canadian’s doping test returned a positive result for ibutamoren and ligandrol.

Thompson will not help the Cavaliers starting Jan. 24 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Cleveland selected Thompson fourth overall in the 2011 draft. With the team, the forward became an NBA champion in 2016. Thompson also played for the Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers.

This season, Thompson played 36 games in the NBA regular season, averaging 3.8 points and 3.9 rebounds.
