BCLA: Quimsa beat Nacional

The team of Santiago del Estero was strong and defeated the Uruguayans in the beginning of the activity of group B in the Basketball Champions League.

At the start of the second window of group B in the Basketball Champions League of America, Quimsa achieved a victory that almost qualified it to the next stage of the competition. The Santiago team, which returned Juan Brussino after an injury, dominated most of the game; showing his best version in the second half. With a final score of 86 to 78, they remain at the top of the table with a perfect record of three wins in the same number of games played.

The first half of the game was marked by equality between the two teams. The Uruguayans attacked first, with a strong defense in the paintwhich they took advantage of to run the field with a quick release. Michael Smith emerged as the most reliable offensive player, contributing 11 points in the first twenty minutes. Quimsa finds the best of his game in the collective attitude, where finding the best placed player seems to be the law. After leading by seven (26-19) they began to have doubts in the defensive sector. With a lot of attitude and effectiveness near the edge, The Uruguayans came closer to the scoreboard, leaving everything open for what followed.

Coming back from the locker room, Quimsa got the maximum. With a Emiliano Basabe plug in in the same sector of the field seemed to rub off on his teammates, who adjusted their defense, forced shots and forced Nacional to take shots with 24 minutes on the clock. The encouragement of Bolso’s fans was heard in the Temple of Rock, but from the field of play the answers did not come for the return of his team; which approaches eight. A bombshell from Sebastián Acevedo, along with a couple of scores from Eduardo Vassirani near the rim was all Fusion needed to end the game in their favour.

The figures:

In Quimsa, Brandon Robinson finished as the top scorer with 19 points (on 6/12 shooting from the field). He was followed by Eduardo Vasirani with 12; while Emiliano Basabe completed the most outstanding offensive trident with 11. In Nacional the best came from the hand of, surely, a former Quimsa. Eric Anderson completed his scoring with 17 points.

What’s next:
