Doc Rivers named Milwaukee head coach

Doc Rivers named head coach Milwaukee Bucks reports the press service of the NBA club.

The specialist replaced Adrian Griffin, who was fired in January.

Rivers’ last team was Philadelphia, which he left last May. Under his leadership, the team had 154 wins in 236 regular season games and reached the NBA playoffs in each of three seasons, where they lost in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Rivers, 62, has also worked with the Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers. He led his teams to the playoffs in 19 of his 24 seasons as head coach, reached the playoffs twice and won an NBA championship with the Celtics in 2008.

This season, Milwaukee is in second place in the Eastern Conference standings after 45 games.
