The NBA made it official this week the list of players who sell the most shirts to fans of the competition. While some names were no surprise, there were others that blew up social media.
The first half of the 2023-24 season leaves Curry in the number one spot. while Lebron James is in third place in this elite group. The podium was completed by Tatum, a Boston Celtics player and one of the candidates for the MVP of the regular season. But the first surprise is that, Victor Wembanayama is in fourth place. The San Antonio Spurs rookie has stolen everyone’s attention and this, without a doubt, has been a determining factor in the sale of clothing worldwide.
The fourth-place finish for the Frenchman was the highest position for a rookie since Kristaps Porzingis arrived in the 2015-16 season to join the Knicks. In addition, Wembanyama’s appearance saw the San Antonio Spurs break into the Top 10 teams with the most jersey sales since the 2017-18 campaign. The Texans finished last in the Western Conference, but even that didn’t get past the task of picking the number one pick in the draft.
Continuing the list of best-selling jerseys, Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers) and De’Aaron Fox (Sacramento Kings), two players who were important for their respective franchises last season, appeared for the first time. Despite barely participating in the 23/24 edition, there is room for Ja Morant in the 11th spot on the list. Memphis player missed first 25 games due to suspension; and then a shoulder injury.
