El Calamar defeated Riachuelo 76 to 72 and entered the meaning of the Super 20 Cup.
Platense defeated Riachuelo at La Rioja’s Superdome in a tight match as Vicente López’s men sealed their qualification for the Super 20 Cup. In a game of great parity marked by streaks, the visit was more and remained victorious by 72 to 76.
At the start of the game, the locals found their way to the hoop with Young and Ibarguen, with the ball close to it. On the other side, the response came from the perimeter players, like Corbalan and Vázquez, who dominated the game. Calamar’s stout defense throughout the second period allowed Vázquez’s team to pull away for the first time in the game. However, the appearance of Ja’Wan Davis at the end of the quarter allowed him to close the first half 34 to 35.
After a long break, Platense returned and, with five consecutive triples, from Flor and Mayora, he made a double-digit difference. Ibarguen reappeared in Eterno, along with Castillo, to tie the game heading into the final period. In Marrón, it was Corbalán who again appeared in the scoring, led by Vázquez, so the visit once again took the lead. The locals again ran from behind and got into the game. It wasn’t enough, as Vicente López’s men were accurate from the line at the end of the match and took it 72 to 76.

The most noticeable
Within the winning team there were several standouts, with Facundo Vázquez being the leading scorer with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Eric Flor followed him, adding 20 points, getting 7 rebounds and giving 2 assists. Juan Pablo Corbalán completed the offensive trident with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist.
Among those led by González, Andres Ibarguen was the most outstanding, as he scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Another good performance was Anyeuri Castillo, who added 20 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
This result, which qualified Platense for the mid-season tournament, kept him in fourth place with a record of 13-5 and gave him his second consecutive victory. Riachuelo, for its part, ended a good run of three straight wins and, with a record of 9-10, is in twelfth place in the table.
