Friday night brought us a new rivalry between two players picked first in the draft. Victor Wembanyama on one side and Zion Williamson on the other. The rivalry, which was very tight, ended in favor of the Pelicans, who relied on the inside to win the game with a hard fought 113 to 114.

Williamson is the hero and figurehead of his team. He completed his scoresheet with 33 points and 8 rebounds. He was joined by CJ McCollum with 21 points and Jonas Valanciunas; who hit a double double with 18 points and 9 rebounds. In Texas, Wemby finished with 16 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 blocks.
