Former defender “Tomy” Serbian Nikola Petkovic arrested in Serbia after threats against 2022 NBA champion Nemanja Bjelica, reports Sportklub.
The incident occurred on February 3 in one of Belgrade’s shopping centers. It should be noted that Petkovic, with scissors in his hand, threatened Bjelica and her family members.
On the orders of the Belgrade prosecutor’s office, Petkovic was detained for 48 hours. On Monday, the footballer denied criminal charges, after which a criminal case was opened. The investigation asks the court to keep the suspect in custody.
Petkovich is 37 years old, he played for Tom in 2010 on loan. The footballer also played for Eintracht Frankfurt, Red Star, Hapoel Tel Aviv and other clubs. Bjelica, 35, became a 2022 NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors.
