Joel Embiid will be gone from the NBA forever

The 76ers intern had to undergo surgery after injuring his knee.

The Philadelphia 76ers intern went from a historic night to a forgotten gift of the NBA season. After the epic performance against the San Antonio Spurs where he scored 70 points, the Cameroonian was absent from several franchise games due to various physical discomforts. It all came down to the game against the Golden State Warriors where, midway through a game, Jonathan Kuminga fell on the player’s left knee. In a fit of pain, Embiid left the court, and hasn’t seen action since.

The first news that alarmed everyone was the possibility of stopping the fight for the MVP of the regular season. After winning it in 22/23, Embiid sought to be enshrined in consecutive NBA seasons. Unfortunately, the minimum established by the competition to participate in the match for the prize is at the limit of the player’s absence, which will definitely be removed from the shortlist. Now problems arise for his team due to the knee injury sustained. The Cameroonian will undergo meniscus surgery and, for the time being, will be out of the franchise indefinitely. It was determined that he could return at the close of the regular season.

The absence of Joel Embiid is a headache for the Sixers. In the absence of their good figure they fell to fifth place in the standings of the Eastern Conference. The 30-18 record puts them below the Boston Celtics (38-12), Cleveland Cavaliers (31-16), Milwaukee Bucks (33-17) and New York Knicks (32-18).
