Embiid, reigning NBA MVP, underwent meniscus surgery – media

Center “Philadelphia » Joel Embiid underwent surgery on the meniscus of his left knee, reports journalist Adrian Wojnarowski on social networks.

In four weeks, the basketball player will undergo a second medical examination. The 29-year-old was injured in a game against Golden State in late January.

Embiid was the NBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) last season. This season, he played 34 games, averaging 35.3 points and 11.3 rebounds.

Embiid previously joined the U.S. national basketball team’s expanded roster to compete in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
