Lakers legend monument unveiled in Los Angeles

A monument to the famous former defender of the basketball club was erected in front of the club’s home arena.

Lakers erected a monument to the legendary club and NBA player Kobe Bryant. The monument was unveiled in front of the team’s home arena.

The opening ceremony took place before the start of the NBA regular season match between Lakers And Denver Nuggetswhich, we remind you, the Lakers lost.

This statue depicts Kobe wearing the number 8 jersey he wore early in his career. Bryant pointed his finger at the sky – a moment that occurred in 2006 when Kobe scored 81 points against Toronto.

Let’s remember that Kobe Bryant retired in 2016. He was a five-time NBA champion and played Lakers 20 seasons. On January 26, 2020, a private helicopter carrying 41-year-old Bryant crashed near Los Angeles. The pilot and eight passengers on board, including the basketball player’s 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, were killed.
