Ukrainian national team forward Voynalovich has recovered from injury and will be able to take part in the EuroBasket 2025 qualification

It was previously reported that due to injury Andrei will miss the upcoming matches of the national team

Forward Ukrainian national basketball team and Polish Slask Andrey Voynalovich played in the last official match for his club.

Thus, the basketball player has fully recovered from the injury and is ready to play for the national team in EuroBasket 2025 qualification. According to available information, Andrey is expected to arrive at the location of the Ukrainian national team before the end of this week.

Let us remind you that in early February, BC Shlensk reported a fracture of the metacarpal bone received by the 24-year-old forward. It was assumed that Vojnalovic would need about three weeks to recover, which is why he would miss the national team’s February matches in the EuroBasket qualifiers.

The blue-yellows will begin preparations for the EuroBasket 2025 qualifying matches with Slovenia and Portugal on February 17 in Riga, and on February 20 they will travel to Slovenia, where they will play the first qualifying match. The team’s extended roster included 16 players, including Vojnalovic.

Vitaly Stepanovsky’s team will open the qualifying tournament with a match against Slovenia on February 22. The blue-and-yellows will then play Portugal on February 25th. Nominally, the “home” match for Ukraine will take place in Riga. The third opponent of the Ukrainians in Group A is Israel.

European Championship qualification will take place during three windows: 19-27 February 2024, 18-26 November 2024 and 17-25 February 2025. Each team will play two games in each window. To qualify for the EuroBasket finals, the Ukrainian national team must take one of the first three places in the group.
