Iowa player Caitlin Clark scores highest single-game score and breaks all-time women’s college basketball record
On the night of last Thursday, the 15th, Caitlin Clark scored an impressive feat and was applauded by the basketball world. The superstar of University of Iowa broke the all-time Division I scoring record NCAA of women’s college sports in the United States.
The shipowner of Iowa Hawkeyes surpassed the former record holder, Kelsey Plumwho had accumulated 3,527 career points in the 139 games he played for washingtonbetween 2013 and 2017. At 1.80m, Clark surpassed the impressive number with just 126 games, reaching 2,569 in the match against Michigan.
In the memorable game, he only needed eight minutes on the court to surpass the record. In the 37 total games he played, he scored 49 points, dished out 13 assists and grabbed five rebounds, as well as one steal. With the points from the match, he set his career high in a single game.
“The coolest thing is the names I have around. These are people I grew up watching, especially Kelsey Plum, Brittney Griner, Kelsey Mitchell. These are really great players.”said Clark, to “Yahoo Sports”, when he took second place on the list, on January 31st.
