El Negro achieved a hard-fought victory over San Lorenzo by 88-71. The scorer in the winning team was Nicolás Romano with 18 goals.
El Negro continues the race as a chaser
Olimpico dominated in the paint with Lockett (10 points) in the first quarter and lost presence in that sector with Basuldo on the court. The visit was close to a draw, but a pair of bombs from Tabarez and Machuca, along with a good pass by Zanzottera, stretched the gap to 10 points with 3.40″ left in the first half. The trend was maintained with the result that with a good pass by Nicolas Aguirre (39-29).
In the second half, San Lorenzo came back into the game with long shots, especially from Córdoba (they were within 4 points), but Penka Aguirre again took over the actions to achieve a new reassuring advantage for the Negro from La Banda.
At the quarter break, Ciclón continued to run the court with its youngest players and defended the entire court. But as was the case throughout the night, Olympic had the appropriate points to unlock history and take another victory at home. It was loose in the final 88 to 71 with Romano firing.
