Slovenian national team head coach Sekulich led Lokomotiv-Kuban

New head coach Lokomotiv Kuban was the Slovenian specialist Alexander Sekulich. This was reported by the press service of the Krasnodar club.

Specialist since 2020 leads Slovenia national team with which he won bronze medals at the 2020 Olympics.

One of Sekulich’s assistants at the Krasnodar club will be Yuritsa Zhuzha, with whom they worked together at Nymburk and won gold medals in the Czech championship.

– Alexander Sekulich is relatively young by training standards, but at the same time he is already a very experienced specialist. I have been following his career and his successes since distant 2011, when in the final Loko met the Slovenian Krka. I’m sure Sasha will be of great use to Loko, and under his guidance our young players will continue to improve. Our club’s strategy will remain unchanged – we will continue to rely on our own students. And, of course, Sekulich’s vast international experience should help the players to reach a new level and our whole team to show a decent result in the VTB United League,” said Andrey Vedischev, chairman of Lokomotiv-Kuban.

Last season, Lokomotiv Kuban reached the semi-finals of the VTB United League under manager Branko Maksimovic, who left the club in June.
