Basketball player UNICS Dmitry Kulagin told that it would be okay to send the cash prize for winning the VTB United League All-Star Game to charity.
The All-Star Game will take place on February 18 at the VTB Arena. The teams of Emil Raikovich and Javier Pascual will meet at the venue, Dmitry Kulagin will play in the first team, his brother Mikhail Kulagin will be in the opposing team. The team that wins the match will receive 3 million rubles.
— Last year, you missed the All-Star Game. How important was it for you to come back here?
— First of all, I will say that the All-Star Game is a milestone event for the entire league. It’s a great show, it’s an honor to be a part of it and perform for the fans. Here we show the celebration, the skill, the beautiful movements.
It’s really a pleasure to be here. Thank you to the league and fans for voting for me. The best players gathered here, and it is always interesting and unusual to be among them and compete.
— We would like you and your brother to be enlisted on the same team. Or is it more interesting, on the contrary, to compete?
— The competition is always more interesting, one way or another. The main thing is that we both have the opportunity to come to our hometown, meet, spend time with our family. Playing against each other is destiny, we have been doing this since childhood, and when it manifests itself in the All-Star Game format, it is doubly pleasant and interesting, and triple motivating.
— For the first time in history, the winning team receives a cash prize of 3 million rubles. How much motivation is that?
— We must do justice to the league, it is developing and becoming better, more competitive. Of course, as a basketball fan, this makes me happy. Speaking of the prize, I am convinced that the winning team should have used it wisely. There are many funds and tools to use this money for the benefit of society,” Kulagin told .
