— This is your first season at UNICS. How did you integrate into the team and the city? How did the move go?
— When basketball becomes an integral part of your life, you get used to the constant moving, flying, traveling and the large number of people that appear around you. The main thing in all this is not to get lost. Kazan welcomed me extremely pleasantly. I say very sincerely that I really like this city. I feel comfortable, cozy, doing what I love. The entire UNICS team is positive and attentive to details. Everyone who works at the club loves their city and their team. It is a great honor for me to play for UNICS and to be in the Republic of Tatarstan. Of course, before joining the club, I knew a lot of the guys who played here. I won’t say that the atmosphere in the team is close to ideal, it’s still a men’s team, but we understand what we want. We treat each other very warmly and friendly. We are all moving towards winning every game.
— UNICS defends the title this season, is it difficult?
– It motivates. It can be seen that the competition in the league has intensified this year, everyone can beat everyone, there is no complete hegemony. As favorites, it helps us prepare for matches. Defending a title is not easy, but it is prestigious. We will work in this direction.
— Are you confident in your ability to defend your title?
“It is impossible to speak of certainty. But there is a good chance that we will compete for victory this year. One way or another, we have a good selection of performers, good physical form, a close-knit team, an excellent coach who has repeatedly proven his high level. We are all determined to win the playoffs, so we will do what we have to, and whatever happens, it will be,” Kulagin told .
