Since March 2022, Russian clubs and national teams have been suspended from participation in tournaments under the auspices of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) due to the situation in Ukraine.
— Do you understand that due to your age and the political situation, you will never again be able to participate in international tournaments for the national team? Or is there still hope?
— I will answer as honestly and sincerely as possible, above all, we are athletes, professionals. Talking about the political situation is not our specialty. As for the national team, I know that in the near future some VTB United League clubs will play friendly matches with the national team. One way or another, we see a large number of promising young people who are now being recruited into the national team. I believe everyone should mind their own business, no matter what.
