Giannis Antetokounmpo opens up about Bucks problems: “To be honest…”

Greek player for the Milwaukee Bucks decides to spend all his honesty on the difficulties and adaptation that the franchise is undergoing in 2024

This last Wednesday, 21st, the Greek player Giannis Antetokounmpo decided to use all his honesty in a conversation with the journalist Eric Nehmagreeing that the 2023/24 season is very far from the expectations that the Milwaukee Bucks put in place for the year, admitting that the team is in trouble. But, despite some concerns, the star showed hope of being able to fight for the title.

During the interview, the Greek discussed some topics regarding the Bucks’ campaign, which currently has 35 wins in 56 games, occupying third place in the Eastern Conference. The team takes the court again this Friday, 23rd, against Minnesota Timberwolvesleader of the Western Conference.

Before All-Star Weekend, the Bucks’ sequence of games showed the team’s current situation. After getting off to a very bad start with Doc Rivers taking over after Adrian Griffin was fired, the franchise racked up victories over the defending champion Denver Nuggets and the Charlotte Hornets. But it was later surpassed by the Miami Heat and the injury-ravaged Memphis Grizzlies.

“To be honest, it’s something that drives me crazy. I have no problem admitting that, I think the last week of games was a lot about that. Beating Denver playing really well like we did was great. You think you are improving and building something. It’s the kind of victory to get you back on track and rock you. And then we lost to Miami without their best player and in horrible fashion at home. I feel bad, but it is what it is. Highs and lows”he stated.

“Our focus now is on the playoffs. Not only in performing there, but building this consistency so that we reach 100%. It’s not a question of team identity, I think, but we need to be stronger and play harder every night. It’s combining the coach’s new philosophy with what was working. Building habits is important at this level”he completed.
