Kyle Lowry went to Philadelphia with a mission: help develop Tyrese Maxey; the veteran is very optimistic about his new role
Kyle Lowry spoke about his new role as “mentor” of Tyrese Maxey at the Philadelphia 76ers. After buyout as Charlotte Hornetsthe veteran decided to sign with the franchise and return to the city where he was born.
“I’m excited to be here. I understand my role and my work. My job is to make sure Tyrese gets better, that the team gets to a point it hasn’t been in a long time. […] I will do everything I can to make this team and this organization better.”said the former Toronto Raptors, in an interview with NBC News.
Kyle Lowry’s debut should happen today, according to the team itself.

After leaving James Harden, it fell into Maxey’s lap to be the team’s starting point guard. Even though he’s doing a great job, help from an NBA champion is always welcome. The player leads the race for the Most Improved Player award, averaging 25.7 points, 6.4 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1 steal in 37.2 minutes per game, in 49 games, starting all of them .
