The head coach “Golden Warriors of State” Steve Kerr has agreed to a two-year contract extension with a salary of $17.5 million per season, ESPN reports.
Kerr’s current contract expired at the end of the 2023/24 season. The new deal will make the 58-year-old American the highest-paid coach in NBA history.
San Antonio head coach Gregg Popovich earns more than Kerr per season, but also serves as president of the Texas club. Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra recently signed an eight-year contract that will pay him approximately $15 million per season.
Kerr has led Golden State since 2014. During that time, he has led the club to four NBA titles.
