Forward “San Antonio Spurs” Victor Vembanyama became the youngest player in National Basketball Association history to score five out of five, Sports Illustrated reports.
In the regular season match against the Los Angeles Lakers (118:123), the 20-year-old Frenchman scored 27 points, as well as 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocked shots.
Previously, the youngest player to achieve this feat was a Russian. Andrei Kirilenko of the Utah Jazz. In 2003, he signed a five by five at the age of 22.
Five by five is a basketball term that means a player earns five or more points in all major statistical indicators during a game. The indicators are points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocked shots.
Vembanyama is the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
