The league decided to disqualify five players following this fight.

Miami center Thomas Bryant and New Orleans guard Jose Alvarado were suspended for three games for leaving the bench during a fight. Heat forward Jimmy Butler and his Pelicans counterpart Najee Marshall were suspended for one game for their direct involvement in the brawl. Another player who was suspended was Miami defender Nikola Jovic. His punishment was due to him leaving the bench and getting into a fight.

The match between New Orleans and Miami took place on February 23 and ended with the victory of the Heat with a score of 106:95. Note that the fight was caused by a gross foul by Miami striker Kevin Love on Pelicans star Zion Williamson, which occurred at the start of the fourth quarter.
