National League: Quimsa returns to victory

The Santiago team beat Independiente de Olova 90 to 86, as a guest.

Starting the day in the National League, Quimsa bounced back from a last-gasp loss against San Lorenzo at home. The merger had to fight hard to finish the bankruptcy of Independiente de Oliva with the Giant of Route Nine. Finally, with a great work from Brandon Robinson, they won 90 to 86. With this result, those from Santiago del Estero continued to run away to the top, with a record of 20-2. The Cordobans, for their part, are in 14th place, with a record of 9-13.

The start of the match favored the leader of the competition; Quimsa dominated the actions led by Brussino and the contribution of Robinson and Emiliano Basabe. The game had important nuances, but Independiente was unable to stop the visit’s dominance. Just in closing, Banegas’ appearance brought peace to the place. The second quarter was dominated by Oliva until they tied the game with a three-point bomb by Jorge Banegas, who became the scorer of the game down the stretch. The Córdoba team established its highest difference (39-32). Independiente achieved regularity in actions and led in the first half 45 to 41. In this part Noblega and Banegas stood out.

Bombs from Brandon Robinson and Fabián Ramírez Barrios brought the Fusion close, but the venue put its stamp on the looks of Ezequiel Paz and Alderete. The third quarter ended tied at 72. Quimsa’s collective play allowed them to have complete dominance. The visit featured strong and intense defense, so much so that the local team could only convert three points midway through the final quarter. Brandon Robinson was very important and decisive for his team that won 90-86.
