Klay Thompson yelled at Warriors coach Steve Kerr; understand

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr reveals that he had a tense conversation with the four-time champion after revealing that his idol would be on the bench

It seems that losing the title after more than a decade was certainly a test for Klay Thompson. Idol and four-time champion for Golden State Warriors, the player did not react well to the news that he would be a reserve. The person who told this was the team’s coach himself, Steve Kerrwhich revealed that the athlete shouted at the coaching staff when informed of the change.

“It wasn’t an easy conversation, first of all. This is the hardest part of leaving the peak of your career. I understand because I went through this too. It’s difficult to accept no longer being a starter after 12 seasons. And it won’t get easier from here on out. But that’s what I told Klay: if you accept this role, you can still help us win.”revealed the multi-champion commander, in an interview with “ESPN”.

Kerr also revealed that Thompson apologized for the poor way he handled the situation. But the reaction does not come as a surprise. The number 11 was resistant to the several times he was asked about the possibility of starting games on the bench. Therefore, he made no secret of the fact that he needed to undergo personal therapy during the All-Star Weekend break. Nowadays, Klay is much better off having his role diminished within the Warriors.

“I didn’t watch a single game. In fact, I didn’t see any sports. This helped a lot, as it was a complete mental reset for me. So, I realized that still being on the court with this team in itself is already spectacular. In this sense, it doesn’t matter if you are a starter or a reserve. Because of this reflection, I see this season as a period of personal evolution.”said the pitcher.
