The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the National Basketball Association (NBA) are discussing the possibility of creating a new club tournament, Sportico reports.
For the first time, the NBA is considering creating a tournament that could rival the Euroleague.
It is worth noting that interested parties have contacted the NBA and proposed several ways to develop European activities beyond the Euroleague partnership.
In February, the NBA hired investment bank Raine Group to evaluate the league’s opportunities in Europe. The possibility of organizing an international competition with the participation of large teams from Europe and other regions of the world is also being explored.
