Grant Williams spent just a few months at the Dallas Mavericks, before being traded to the Charlotte Hornets; during this period, he was humiliated by Luka Doncic
From the beginning of the season until the trade deadline, Grant Williams wore the shirt Dallas Mavericks and acted alongside Luka Donic. However, the winger did not leave the Texas franchise without first experiencing what it was like to mark the Slovenian star. According to the journalist michael finley, the player provoked the star because he thought the point guard was not doing well in training. And it went wrong.
“One day at training, a player on our team, I won’t say his name, but it was Grant Williams. So, he decided to provoke Luka. He thought Doncic didn’t arrive well and ready for training. So, to make a long story short, they went to train. Williams teased him the whole time until Luka accepted the challenge.”said Finley, in an interview with “105.3 FM The Fan”.

Grant came to the Mavericks last offseason after a three-way trade. However, after a short time with the team, Williams left the franchise in a new negotiation and ended up in Charlotte Hornets. “I’ll tell you one thing, Luka’s team scored 26-6. But all 26 were his. Doncic showed everything and I’m not exaggerating. It was three-pointers, playing with his back to the basket, everything he could show.”he commented.
The interesting thing is that Doncic remained calm the entire time, while Williams provoked him. Finley said that the Slovenian did not swear at his former teammate at any point, but everyone warned Grant not to provoke him. “Everyone was courtside, including the coach and coaching staff. They told Grant Williams not to “poke the bear.” Everyone warned, “don’t poke the bear”added the former player.
