Euroleague expanded Bodiroga’s powers at the head of the organization

The Euroleague Basketball Board of Directors has extended Dejan Bodiroga’s term as president of the organization by four years, according to the tournament’s official website.

The powers of the general director of the Euroleague, the Lithuanian Paulius Motiejunas, were extended for the same period.

— In his role as President, Bodiroga focuses on improving the quality of EuroLeague competition for the benefit of clubs, players, fans, partners and other stakeholders, while playing a key role in strengthening relationships with the broader basketball community, including EuroLeague players. Bodiroga, a two-time world champion, became president of the Euroleague in September 2022, replacing Jordi Bertomeu, who held the position for more than 20 years. In June 2023, Bodiroga retained his position and Motiejunas was named general manager of the organization.

Russian clubs and national teams have been suspended from participating in international tournaments due to the situation in Ukraine.
