If the legacy of the Golden Generation has taught us anything, it is the bond that binds the team together beyond the field of play.. We see this in every meeting they have had over the years, as well as the presence of team members at significant events for their former colleagues. 20 years after the victory in which the Argentine National Team won the gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Andrés Nocioni came out in defense of a friend, the same way he did on every field.

It all started with a series of nasty comments from Gilbert Arenas. The former player first revealed a few weeks ago should be the NBA “Get rid of all the Europeans” to improve the league. “Go to college to learn defense. What universities do Europeans go to? They have no athletic ability. They have no speed or jumping ability. They are responsible for the defense. There are 150 Europeans in the league today; Name the best defender. nothing! Just Rudy Gobert and the Greek Freak. Other than that, they are offensive players. They’re not defensive players, right?” Not satisfied with this, a few days ago he targeted an Argentinian and Chapu did not miss him: “Don’t compare me to Manu Ginobili. “He was a bench player and was brought in by Tony Parker and Tim Duncan.”

“What happened to this fool? He attacked the Europeans and now he is troubling Manu. Check out the complete package daddy! You are missing some fruit. Gil!” Andrés’ first post, responding to the former Golden State Warriors player’s statements. The crossing did not end there and Arenas once again turned his guns on the Argentines: “I’m not sure what it says, but I’m sure they agree with me (they can’t even defend me) Chapu Nocioni. You’re still mad about that game-winning shot in the playoffs.

“Not for me, friend, for Manu. You don’t even tie your shoelaces. Also, it’s 2024, if you don’t understand, use a translator”, Chapu answered. Without any intention of ending the discussion, Arenas replied: ”It’s 2024, if I’m the clown you’re the client. Welcome to the greatest show on earth. Be right back”… “Thank you. “I have my own show but no clowns”. The final word comes from the player who spent 11 years in the NBA: “A show without clowns to entertain is a little like your career (I tune in when I’m bored).” Obviously, despite the arguments through Instagram stories, fans were not left out of the discussion and filled the North American account with comments supporting Manu and Chapu.

It should be remembered that Gilbert Arenas had a few forgettable years in the NBA. In the 11 years he was in the league, he defended the colors of the Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies. He is remembered for being considered the player with the worst contract in the history of the competition. In 2008 he signed with the Washington Wizards for more than 100 million dollars, but he played only 191 games.. He was later suspended for bringing guns into the locker room, in a situation involving Fabricio Oberto, another member of the Golden Generation. “The next day I came to train around 9 and, when we got there, I saw a side chair in the locker room full of weapons. I thought they were toys,” said the Argentine in an interview with Paren La Mano.
