Another weekend passed in the best league in the world, with seven matches that left some of the highlights to fight for the first positions in the monthly top 10. And the best night came from the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat, who beat their rivals in the last ball, avoided reaching overtime. The Texans’ victory had added value, as it was against the leaders of the Western conference, the Denver Nuggets.

The game the Mavs played was close to perfect, and it was what they needed to defeat the bogeyman of the West sector. They dominated almost every match, gaining a significant advantage. The Nuggets rallied from a 13-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter and took the lead on Jamal Murray’s tiebreaking 3-pointer with 26 seconds left. Doncic responded quickly by scoring from a few yards behind the arc for a 105-105 tie. From there, anything can happen. The visitors had a chance, with a shot from Murray, which was ineffective. There was a quick timeout call from Dallas to manage the game’s final offensive drive. There appeared the figure of Irving, with a remarkable shot to define the match. We can tell it’s a hook, because of the movement of his hand, but what’s remarkable is that he did it with his untrained hand.

Another shut down for a heart attack was that of the Miami Heat. It’s surprising how much a Florida team would cost to beat the Pistons who have no chance of qualifying for the post-season. Cade Cunningham missed a 3-pointer for Detroit with 9 seconds left and Terry Rozier ran down the court with the rebound. He couldn’t get to the rim, so he handed over the responsibility to Bam Adebayo, who finished with his twelfth triple of his seven-year career. A few weeks ago, the player had 11.8% three-pointers in his career. He is currently a phenomenal 3-for-3 in his last three games, including this win over Detroit. Miami is in eighth place in the table, with a record of 37-30. Today he will play the Play in against the Philadelphia 76ers.
