President of the Russian Basketball Federation (RFB) Andrei Kirilenko said the Friendship Games basketball tournament format includes up to 12 teams.
The first-ever “Friendship Games” will take place from September 15 to 29, 2024 in Moscow and Yekaterinburg.
— We are currently working in this direction. In my opinion, the format includes 10-12 teams. From now on, invitations are sent every week. Coordination is underway with the teams that can come to us,” Kirilenko said, as quoted by RG.ru.
Russian athletes in most sports, including basketball, have been suspended from international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
