Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell undergoes facial surgery

After suffering a nose injury in last Saturday’s game against the Rockets, ‘Spida’ underwent surgery to repair the region.

O Cleveland Cavaliers announced that DonovanMitchell underwent surgery this Tuesday, the 19th, to repair a rupture in his nose. The shooting guard suffered the injury in the game on Saturday, 16, against Houston Rocketsand the team was missing in the last match.

The Cavs’ best player has already missed 18 games this season and is no longer eligible for any individual NBA award. The shooting guard recently underwent plasma treatment to resolve bone edema in his knee, which left him out for another seven rounds.

The current third-placed team in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 43 wins and 25 losses, is dealing with several injury problems: Max Struss is undergoing treatment for his knee and Evan Mobley recovering from an ankle injury.

‘Spida’ has been having a good campaign, despite the setbacks with his physique, leading the franchise offensively. In 2023/24, Mitchell averages 27.4 points, 6.1 assists and 5.3 rebounds.
