In Moscow, a “time capsule” was laid in the foundations of the country’s first center for RBF national teams

President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov reported that on Thursday in Moscow, a “time capsule” was laid in the foundations of the country’s first center for the national teams of the Russian Basketball Federation (RFB).

“A modern sports complex will become a federal-scale center, where it will be possible not only to organize mass sporting events, but also to fully implement the process of training and recovery of our athletes,” said writes Pozdnyakov on the Telegram channel.

RFB President Andrei Kirilenko spoke about the start of construction of the center.

“Very soon the country’s national teams will have their own home – modern, comfortable and hospitable. Athletes will be able to train and fully recover, spectators will be able to attend notable basketball events (championships, championships, cups of Russia and international competitions that will be held there). Well, residents of Vnukovo and surrounding areas can take part in this sport, because the RFB center will become a meeting place for children and adults.

Everyone knows that the President of Russia traced the vector of development of sports infrastructure for team sports, and we are very happy that the Russian Federation was able to fully support this order: today, in addition to the flagship center, work is underway to prepare and build centers for national teams in seven countries in the region. Agreements have already been signed for the construction of complexes in Izhevsk, Kaliningrad, Chelyabinsk, Syktyvkar, Arkhangelsk, Khabarovsk and the Sakhalin region. Over time, they will form a vast infrastructure network that will meet all the needs of the development of modern basketball,” Kirilenko was quoted as saying by the RFB press service.
