Vice-president of BC CSKA: “I hope everyone understood the postponement of the games”

vice-president PBC CSKA Natalia Furaeva, in an interview with , expressed hope that fans would be in favor of postponing the home matches of the Moscow team.

Due to the tragic events in Krasnogorsk, the VTB United League postponed the CSKA – Zenit match from March 25 to 28. The army team’s home match against Lokomotiv-Kuban, originally scheduled for March 31, was postponed to April 1.

— How did the timing of the postponement of the match against Zenit affect the team’s preparation?

— In addition to this postponement, our match against Lokomotiv has also been postponed from March 31 to April 1. Coaches had to adjust short-term microcycles of training and recovery processes. Our fans prefer weekends – March 31 would have been Sunday – but there are more important things in life than basketball, so I hope everyone understood the postponements and, as always, we will prepare with all responsibility.

— Will the games take place with spectators?

— Yes, that’s exactly what is planned. There have been no further orders yet,” Furaeva told .

On Friday evening, unknown assailants opened fire on the Crocus Town Hall in Krasnogorsk. According to the latest data from the Russian Investigative Committee, 137 people died as a result of the terrorist attack. Russian President Vladimir Putin declared March 24 a day of national mourning.
