National Hockey League (NHL) clubWashington Capitals “and the National Basketball Association (NBA) team”Wizards of Washington “will continue to perform in the US capital until at least 2050.
Both clubs’ owner Ted Leonsis and Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser signed an agreement on a $515 million arena renovation project. The new project provides for the expansion of the arena complex by 18,580 square meters.
“It’s a great day and I feel a great relief,” Leonsis said, as quoted by AP.
Bowser also indicated that he was happy to continue his cooperation.
Earlier, media reported that Virginia lawmakers approved the allocation of land for the construction of a new arena for the Capitals.
