Agent Vadim Mikhalevsky, representing the interests of the head coach of the Zenit basketball club Javier Pascual told that the Spanish specialist has no agreements with other teams.
Earlier, Sportando announced that Pascual will become the head coach of Turkish basketball club Anadolu Efes this summer.
— Pascual has a valid contract with Zenit until the end of the season, so far we have not agreed anything with anyone. From the experience of last summer, you remember that he had already “moved” to five Euroleague teams, but in the end he stayed in St. Petersburg. It is therefore too early to talk about a new contract.
— Is there a chance that Javier will stay at Zenit? Perhaps there have already been negotiations about extending the contract?
— At this point, there is no movement regarding Pascual’s future. He has a valid contract with Zenit and he is focused exclusively on the end of the season, Mikhalevsky told .
Pascual took charge of Zenit in February 2020. Previously, the 51-year-old Spaniard coached clubs such as Panathinaikos and Barcelona. In April 2021, the coach signed a new three-year agreement with the bleus-blancs-bleus. Pascual led the St. Petersburg club to victory in the VTB League in the 2021/22 season.
