NBA: Tyrese Haliburton fires back at betting culture: “I’m just…”

Young Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton believes that betting fans’ stance creates a toxic environment within the NBA

Nowadays, it is more than common to see betting tips on the countless assists per game. Tyrese Haliburton in the rounds of NBA. However, the young star of Indiana Pacers doesn’t like it one bit. The athlete believes that the growing culture of sports betting among the league’s fans is creating a toxic environment for everyone.

“First of all, for half the planet, I’m just a ‘money maker’ today. I’m a guy who helps you make money on these betting sites. I became a type of number, a statistic, in short. After all, most of my social media is dominated by comments about this. Do you understand the problem we created?”said the player, during an interview with “The Athletic”.

Recently, Haliburton felt the harmful effects of all this on his skin. The player went through a difficult phase after the All-Star Game, scoring 20 points in just two of the 12 games he played. And, because of this, it disappointed some bettors. “The gamblers created this thing they call the ‘banned list’. You don’t beat the lines they bet on, so they enter into that relationship. Nobody bets on your props anymore. Over the past six weeks, almost every mention I get on social media is related to being one of those banned. It’s much, much worse than when I was a rookie.”reported Tyrese.
