Mens Sana received the Instituto de Córdoba from Comodoro Rivadavia Founding Partners for the National League. It was a victory for Gimnasia, who extended their winning streak to three in a row. Those from Villagrán tied with San Martín de Corrientes in games won and lost.
The Comodorenses extended their streak to three
The match started with Comodoro on the visiting side, but as the first quarter went by, the locals tied the short lead that the Institute had achieved. Mens Sana managed to turn the score around and take the lead by an incredible distance, but in the end. The key is the inside game led by Gerard De Vaughn (25 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block). Injuries played into Gloria, who fell seven points to Gimnasia at halftime.
The second half was no different, it continued with Green Magic and its limited power that managed to tie those from Alta Córdoba. El Toro Acuña (14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block) as a figure, Victoriano’s team was matched, but did not go on to win. The people of Villagrán were once again led by Tyrone White (17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist) who accompanied his compatriot in scoring and put the people of Comodoro ahead. Gimnasia won the match by 12 points and equaled San Martín in the standings in eighth position.
What’s next for you two?
Gimnasia will continue its local status and will host Independiente de Oliva among the Founding Members. Mens Sana will try to move up the standings against I, who despite losing at the Olympic, are at the bottom. For its part, Instituto will return to Alta Córdoba to face Boca Juniors. This is an important game for Xeneize, as it can move closer to Platense in fourth place in La Liga and direct qualification to the semifinals.
